Make Time to Make a Difference

Fellow Kiwanians,

Thank you to the many wonderful Kiwanians this pass weekend on our 91st Annual Convention that was held in Warwick, RI.

We can not tell you how much it meant to us to see all of you and the encouragement that you gave Ann Marie and myself. I will do my best to live up to your expectations.

Everyone did a wonderful job in bringing in dry and can goods for our local service project which was the Rhode Island Family Shelter Group. You all brought in over the amount that was expected and tremendously helped out the Rhode Island Family Shelter. Your generous donations exceeded their expectations and helped quite a lot of families with children. I can not be more proud of all of you. This is what Kiwanis really is all about, giving of yourselves to help someone else. The shelter was in such admiration for us, because we came from all over New England and gave, they were speechless to say the least.

This is something that we do well…always remember to play to your strengths and recognize that one person can not do everything. We are a team, a group, no; we are a Family that cares. We are a special kind of person who is giving and wants to serve. On that note, we need more members to help fill those positions to serve. We need more members to help the children of our communities. We need more members because many hands make light work. Let’s grow as only we can…build more clubs, more K-Kids, Builders Clubs, Key Clubs, Circle K’s, Aktion Clubs and yes even Golden K’ers. There is no organization out there like ours and we should be PROUD of who we are and what we do… We need to quit being secret agents of Kiwanis and let the world know what we are and that we wear our colors proud.

I look forward in meeting and seeing everyone soon and passing on the message of Paul Palazzolo, our Kiwanis President, that its time is right now and to have a great Kiwanis Experience.
